GREEN PETROLEUM COKE
Green Petroleum Coke
Petroleum coke is a by-product of the refining process in the petroleum industry. In its raw form, it is also called green petroleum coke, which has a high content of sulfur and residual hydrocarbons (15% to 20%).
The term “green” is used to designate thermally unprocessed petroleum coke. Chemically, green petroleum coke includes a wide variety of elements and metals in different concentrations. Depending on these physical and chemical characteristics, it is commonly used as an energy source in the production of electricity, industrial boilers, glass and paper factories and in industrial applications as a carbon source.
